Art Therapy – The Power of the Imagination

Art Therapy offers an opportunity to explore personal problems and potentials, and family and relationship dynamics through verbal and non-verbal expression. No art experience is needed.

Art Therapy is an effective means of reconciling emotional conflicts and fostering self-awareness. It is based on the belief that the creative process involved in the making of art is healing and life-enhancing. The creative process helps people connect with their own inner resources. It allows clients to learn something new about themselves, because it engages the right hemisphere of the brain where other types of information are stored. It easily accesses unconscious material making visible thoughts, feelings and perceptions that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Engaging in creative art and imagery has the ability to access, release and actually transform stubborn negative emotions that keep people stuck.

A – Access R - Release T – Transform

Making art frees the body’s healing mechanism.
It unites body, mind, and spirit. In art and healing, no interpretation or therapy is necessary. The creative
process is the healer.
